LEXAN
A polycarbonate label where the thickness ranges from .005’’ to 0.020’’ (0.127mm to 0.5mm). Polycarbonate is printed sub-surface (or from behind) and then laminated to a self-adhesive transfer tape such as 3M 467 and 3M 468 which use the 200MP adhesive or 3M 9472LE which uses 3M 300LSE adhesive. The printed graphic is encapsulated between the polycarbonate layer and the adhesive thereby protecting it from the elements, cleaners and abrasives. Lexan is extremely durable in harsh environments and has exceptional temperature characteristics performing well in conditions ranging from -40°F to 275°F (-40°C to 135°C). Using our recommended adhesives the polycarbonate labels can be applied to many different surfaces: metal, painted metal, powder coated metals, plastics. Lexan labels can be fabricated with holes and irregular shapes for use as graphic membranes for control panels.
